A Tour of The Festive Co Studio

When we found our house in Adelaide, one of the most exciting parts for me was the tiny studio at the back which was begging to become The Festive Co office!

A couple of massive craft projects, some weddings and events meant this poor studio was almost floor to ceiling full of props for the best part of 2019.

This year I had a good month to get it in order (finally) before a photo shoot (excellent hard deadline) and the TFC Studio got to shine at last.

Of course, now the world is locking itself down, work is quiet and home is where we shall stay for awhile. I have NEVER felt luckier to have, not just our beloved house but also, a home office as my little sanctuary.

Counting my lucky stars.

Here’s a sneak peek!

The big pinboards were used in our wedding as part of the seating chart area. I just keep adding to them whenever I find bits and pieces that otherwise would sit in a box.

Behold my fourth and fifth children, my pink velvet clam chairs! I found them on Facebook Marketplace and managed to snag them within an hour of being listed. I was SO keen I transferred a deposit straight away. Then on the way to picking them up, my truck broke down. GAH! The seller was amazing and waited until I could organise a courier and they were worth all the stress. I adore them and will have them forever and a day. The footstool is from Early Settler.

This vanity was my late Papou’s and there is no way I’ll part with it. So it’s snuggled in the corner and doubles as a bit of storage space. My dad says I can strip it and paint it, but I don’t know if I want to? Rare for me.

These pegboards are from KMART and I painted the pegs and shelves white, because I basically paint everything I own white. You can see up the top I forgot to do the base and they’re so high it shows! #putitonthelist

The craft-tail cart

This sweet old rattan bar cart is on it’s last legs. Literally. One keeps falling off. So now it’s my Craft-tail cart. I get to have ridiculously fun things like this in the studio, because it’s a kid-free zone.

There are a lot of disco balls in here and it makes the space 2300% more fun.

At least 15 years ago, I got it in my head that I really wanted a pink typewriter. This was when there was really only eBay and I trawled and trawled until I found it. It’s lived with me in every house and my friends still ask after it. Strangely I’ve never given it a name like everything else I own. Perhaps it’s time?

The shelving is Target and box inserts are from Bunnings. I’ll eventually upgrade to some nice baskets, but for now these work a treat and it’s all incredibly budget friendly for so much storage. This is where all my little craft things live like glue, material, stationary, props, tools and more. The end game will be to have a beautiful big side-board/hutch to house it all.

As with every room I’ve ever decorated, this one is work in progress. But it’s my joy-filled, colourful, inspiring oasis and I’m utterly grateful for it.

Stay well, stay in touch. x
